Our motor expert, José Manuel González, answers one of the most repeated questions when purchasing a new car.
What car bought me?
speaks to us from one of the densest points of traffic in Madrid, the Puerta de Alcalá. "For those who are trying to buy a car in Madrid, this traffic challenge of such an emblematic place that you will have to go through, will probably make you lose minutes or hours of sleep" and browsing the internet.
"I do not want to give you the solution, I do not come to tell you what car you have to buy, the important thing is to know What car do I need?" Currently we live a moment where the offer of this market has never been so complete. The most important thing is to know what we need and what vehicle is right for us.
Therefore, currently there is no bad option, including diesel. If we buy a model of last generation of 2019 all of them, any model and option will be within the legislation, so they respect the environment.
Market options
Would you buy me a diesel? "Yes, if I had to do many kilometers daily. I speak of 100-200 kilometers per day, for example. It is not an urban circulation, of course. In this case, the ideal option would be a car with a diesel engine ", explains the motor expert.
And gasoline? Thanks to technology, we currently have very powerful engines for very low consumption. For short trips, we can opt perfectly for a gasoline engine.
González also talks about mixed engines: A gasoline-natural gas mixed engine is capable of taking you for more than 1,000 kilometers without refueling.
Regarding the hybrid-electric world, we need more technical information so as not to err in our choice. "We have to be clear that if a car is going to make many miles of road, a hybrid car may not be a good option." However, if we are going to do normal driving, where we go on vacation from time to time, where we go shopping, it can be a good option, "says González. The important thing is to know how to drive this type of vehicle to get the most out of it.
"Think about what your life needs, the emotional part is very important when buying a car", concludes the expert.
